The demand for environmentally friendly biomass is growing, particularly in the Japanese market. With abundant biomass feedstock sources in Indonesia, such as palm kernel shells, wood powder, and others, the country holds significant potential as a major biomass producer.
The Japanese government has implemented policies requiring verification for companies trading and manufacturing palm kernel shells accepted in Japan. One of the prerequisites for entering the Japanese market is compliance with the Green Gold Label (GGL) standard.
Established in 2002 by the Green Gold Label Foundation, GGL is a voluntary international standard designed to ensure that biomass products originate from sustainable sources, including agricultural and forestry waste.
